It’s just 10 days until the Chinese New Year! It is also called the Lunar New Year as the Chinese New Year festival follows the cycle of the moon. This year is the Year of the Rabbit!

The rabbit is the fourth animal that appears in the Chinese zodiac. As well as linking certain characteristics to people born in the Year of the Rabbit, personality traits are also linked to one of five elements (fire, water, earth, wood or metal). This year is linked to water which is said to have varying impacts on those of other signs; in particular for those born in the last year of the water rabbit which was in 1963.

The mythology surrounding rabbits in Chinese culture is that they are often mistaken as timid but that they see details others might not and have an inner strength. There will not be another Year of the Rabbit until 2035, so let’s celebrate their cute and quirky characters this year!
